This is a story of my personal experience with Dr. Liangs herbal nasal treatment.

Gee Diane, I dont know what to tell you, says my chiropractor, Dr. McKee. It is November 1995.

My heart sinks.

What do you mean?

I just dont think that I can do anything more for you.

I am stunned. I felt cold.

So what should I do?I asked.

He scratches his head.

Seems over the last six years you have tried almost everything for your arm. But it always locks up again,he states.

Yes, I have had MRIs, CAT scans, and several sessions of physical therapy. Youre my second chiropractor. Acupuncture helped- but only temporarilyThis is very discouraging.I said, hanging my head.

We both stand in silence for a while. Not knowing what else to say or do.

You know? I did have a patient like you once before…” says Dr. McKee.

Only once?!?I joked

He smiles then continues.

Yeah, she went to an acupuncturist not far from here. He must have helped because I never saw her again.

Really? Ill try anything. Besides my acupuncturist is in Santa Monica and now that we are living in Altadena, he is too far away. I was looking for one closer,I declared.

Let me go get his name for you, says Dr. McKee.

Part 2- Dr. Liang will see you now, says the receptionist. She motions me to follow her. I stand and walk past the wall filled with glass jars containing herbs. In the hallway I pass a man with sticks coming out of his nose. In the background I hear several people coughing, spitting and blowing their noses. Gee, there seems to be lots of sick people here, I had better get out of here quick.

Hello, I am Dr. Liang, says a Taiwanese Man.

Hi, I am Diane Hanson,

You put arm here,he instructs pointing to the edge of his desk. I do as I am told and he takes my pulse while reading my information sheet.

You have no energy,he informs me. I assume he deducted that from my usually weak pulse.

You need good oxygen for good energy. How long you had this problem with your right shoulder and arm?he asks.

Six years or more.I replied.

And your knee?

About 2 years,I answered.

Open your mouth,he says bringing a tongue depressor to my face.

Ahummmmhe mumbles. I wonder if that is a good hummm?

He begins to press spots along the side of my neck.

Ouch!!!I yelled- it hurts!

A ha!he exclaims.

I think I can help you,he says. My heart leaps with hope. My eyes fill with tears.
You can?

He nods.

Follow me. I must double check,he says standing.

Ill follow you anywhere, I think as I walk behind him to the room next door.

You sithe motions to the chair next to another desk. I sit. He gets a small scissors looking tool and a small flashlight.

I am going to put this instrument in your nose,he informs me.

He inserts the instrument into my nostril and opens it.

Yes, that is it!he exclaims. He sits back to look at me. I am speechless.

Yes, I can help you.he says.

Those word are like a miracle to me. I know he can see my reaction. I think that I see a glimmer of a smile in his eyes. I hope he isnt lying to me. I hope he isnt a charlatan.

Look, I show you,he says handing me a mirror.

I am so excited. He is going to help me and he can show me what the problem is. This, after six years, is just so amazing that I can hardly take it.

I hold the mirror while he shines the flashlight up my nose.

You see that small cyst?he asks.

Yes, Yes, I see it!!I exclaimed.

Sure enough, there is a small cyst inside the right nostril.

I put the mirror down in slow motion. I am still trying to absorb what I have been told and what I have seen.

That little thing is causing all these problems?

He nods.

Probably more up further, it makes you have post nasal drip.he informs me.

Yes, my internist told meyears agothat I had post nasal dripbut he said not to worry about it! I wasnt aware of it.I respond.

Too much. It piles up. Stops circulation. Makes congestion in your neck. Puts pressure on joint in shoulder. That makes rest of problem down the arm, and then throughout the bodywherever you have a weaknesslike your kneetoxins will settle,he informs me.

Damn, that makes sense! I am so desperate for a cure that this makes sense?

But I have never had sinus problems. My siblings have, but not me. I can breath with my mouth closed. I dont have allergies…”

Yes, you have a sinus problem,he contradicts me.

Should I have the cyst burned off?I asked.

No, no,he says shaking he head. No need for surgery. I fix you. I fix you with herbs.

Ding!! A little bell rings in my head. I recall the man in the hallway with the sticks in his nose.

You mean those sticks?I asked pointing to my nose.

Yes, probably 15 sessions. First five, every day. Then every other day. Then you better. Here read this.He says handing me a paper with information and instructions.

You can have just herb treatment or you can also have acupuncture. The acupuncture will make everything happen faster.

Well, I am a very impatient person so lets also do the Acupuncture.I do not hesitate. I will try anything. I have had acupuncture before, so I am not squeamish with it. Besides, we are moving in April so I dont have much time,I add.

No problem. You better before April,he reassures me. OK, we begin!he says. He must be impatient too. An impatient oriental, hmmm.

He begins to prepare two long slender sticks. He wraps cotton on the ends, opens a jar, the contents of which looks like tar. He spins the cotton ends of the sticks into the mixture and turns to me.

You breath in, I insert sticks, I stop- you exhale from your mouth.

I begin to inhale, he starts to slide the first stick up into my right nostril. He goes farther and farther. I feel a strong urge to pull back. He places his hand on the back of my head. I fell terror. What am I doing allowing this stranger to ram sticks up my nose? I cant take much more of this. It is really uncomfortable. I begin to bang his knee to tell him to stop. Finally he stops.

Not pleasant?he asks.

I shake my head. I cannot speak. My eyes are watering, but I can see through the blur that he is coming at me with the other stick for the left nostril. Oh no! Let me outta here!

I subject myself to the same torture for the other nostril. When he is done I sit trying to compose myself and wondering how I can endure another 14 sessions.

OK, now for acupuncture,he announces. I stand and attempt to follow him. Walking with sticks up ones nose is quite unnatural. I lie on the acupuncture bed and he inserts the needles in my arms, my legs, and my hands. He sets the timer and leaves the room. I will have 30 minutes in here. The timer goes off, he doesnt speak as he removes the needles and motions for me to again follow him. I sit in a chair by the desk as he removes the sticks. I blow my nose. There are rolls of toilet paper in various places throughout every room. When I look up again he is preparing two more sticks. I feel myself pulling back. I begin to stand.

No, no, you have more.He says

I stare at the sticks in disbelief, No, no yourself. I had no idea when I started this what the treatment was, but now that I knowI dont like it. Now, now,I said to myself, if this works, youll be able to play golf, you wont have the pain and discomfort. You can comb you hair and tuck in your shirt in your pants. Just think, youll be better instead of getting worse. Youll be able to lie on your right side to sleep. You wont have to drive with one hand. It is only 14 more sessions. Surely, if it works, that isnt too much.

I allow the sticks to penetrate my nose once more. It is worse the second time because the nose is still raw from the first insertion.

Keep in for 60 minutes, instructs Dr. Liang.

Sixty minutes! An Hour?! I have to get home!I declared. I have to get home. I have to get outta here.

Yes, yes, okay, you can leave. Just drive home with sticks and take out at homehe tells me.

I stare at him in disbelief. Drive home with these sticks up my nose? What if I get into an accident and push these damn things into my brain? Anyone looking at me might have an accident. But I say nothing. I am glad I can leave. I head for my car with a wad of toilet paper in my hands. The black herbs were leaking out.

At home, I waited impatiently to remove the sticks. When I do my nose begins to run. I guess the sinuses are draining. They drain all day. I cannot lean over without drops coming out of my nose.

The next morning, I have less pressure in my arm. Is this working already? Amazing!

Part three- How do your feel?asks Dr. Liang. I have now had 10 treatments. My nose isnt as sensitive as in the beginning. My nostrils are not as tight so the sticks go in easier. In fact, I can handle it quite well now.

My nose has finally stopped running, but I have had a bad cough for two weeks and that bulgeI have felt in my back for three years seems worse. I havent been able to sleep,I tell him.

That is your stomach. Your stomach is weak. A strong stomach will wash out toxins. Your stomach weak. It fills up. Pressure from toxins. You have GI problem.

I nod. I have had digestive and stomach problems in the past. Is he going to cure that too?

No problem, I fix you,he says as if reading my mind. I fix you with herb drink.

Oh god! Dont make me drink that black goop! He motions me to follow. I do. Like a lamb being lead to the slaughter.

You drink warm water,he instructed pointer to the water cooler. I fill a paper cup with hot water then join Dr. Liang at the reception desk.

You see? Two, two, two,the instructions says to take two each of the three medications three times a day. It is, thank god, capsules filled with brownish powder. This I can take. I am relieved, Oriental medicine in American packaging.

You take now. Then we do acupuncture.

I take, we do.

Today different. You lie on massage table.I lie down. Pull up shirtI pull it up. He begins to press areas around my navel.

Ouch!I yelled. I am sure that he has found the proper spot in which to insert the needle.

Good! This needle will make your stomach cramp. He inserts the needle and sure enough soon it begins to cramp. I groan. Good! This guy really loves his job. He withdraws the needle. Now you move around your back.I do. It seems better?he asks. I move again.

YesYes, I really think it is. The pressure seems to be gone!I say, amazed yet again.

Part 4- I finished the treatments a few days ago. I still feel some tenderness in my back on the left side, but my sinuses are clear, and my cough almost gone. My knee no longer sticks or locks when I sit for too long, nor does it aches if I walk too much. My arm no longer feels like it is going to explode if touched. I have more range of motion in it too. I will probably need to exercise out the last bit of tightness in it, but I will be starting the new year of 1996 being a lot healthier than when I began 1995.

P.S. During the course of treatment, I met several patientsall with different problems: skin rashes, headaches, backaches, sinus problems, etc. All were taking the treatment. All I spoke to were believers in this practice- because it was working for them where other-westerntreatments had failed. Keeping things in balanceis an Oriental philosophy. If the body is in balance it will take care of itself.

Why are Westerners so reluctant to acknowledge Eastern medicines worth? Eastern medicine has been practiced for 3000 year and Western medicine for about1000. Doesnt it stand to reason that the one practiced longer has learned more?

It is too bad that these treatments are not covered by medical insurance. The AMA has recently acknowledged Chiropractic treatment so why not acupuncture and herbs? The Oriental way seems less invasive than ourways. The thin, fine, needles used in acupuncture inject no drugs into the body. They are thinner than a hypodermic needle. The treatments are less expensive.

It seems to me that Western medicine treats the symptoms. While the Eastern way is to find the source of the problem and try to cure that.

If the AMA would acknowledge acupuncture and herbs, then the treatments would be covered by medical insurance. This would lower our medical costs and provide for an alternative and/or additional treatment, save money, and make for healthier citizens. A healthy nation is a wealthy nation.

Doctors Note: The Treatment process described by the patient above was one that was developed by the doctor. Since then the Treatment itself has gone through several evolutions. Gone now are the Sticks that are needed to apply the medicine. The constant dripping medicine has also been eliminated. The frequency that the patient has to come to the office and the discomfort has been significantly cut down. The treatment now consists of nasal suppositories and rectal suppositories. The herbal nasal treatments have become so convenient and easy to use that patients who do not have the time to spend at the doctors office can take the medicine home and use it by themselves. Also if patients are traveling or if they live out of state and cannot come to the office, they can take the medicine with them to use by themselves. It is that simple. If you would like to find out more about this treatment. Please call us at ?626?292-7755 or 1(888) 450-9888.

2. Introduction to Acupuncture

Home Page Chinese Page Dr. Liang Testmonial E-Mail Us Check-Up List Up Top

Acupuncture is a traditional form of Chinese medicine that has its roots in prehistoric times. It was the prevailing form of treatment for ailments in ancient China. Even today, despite the introduction of Western methods and medicine, Acupuncture is still taught to many of the medical students in China. Acupuncture is also still practiced, privately and in hospital, by over 1000 doctors in the Mainland.

The treatment itself is basically to insert very fine needles to the depth of a few millimeters at strategic points on the skin. These places are called Acupuncture points, or pressure points.

The acupuncture points are nerve endings and the meridians are the general course along which runs a certain functional group of nerves. The prick of the needle at precisely defined points on the skin stimulates specific nerves, which transmit electrical impulses to the spinal cord and lower centers of the brain and thence to the diseased area. There are nerves in every part of your body, no matter how small, and every inch of it is under direct or indirect control of one or several nerves. They control nearly all processes in the body. When stimulated, some nerves will increase the movement of the intestines, others retard it and at the same time increasing or decreasing the flow of the digestive juices. The same principle holds good in the increase or decrease in the rate of the heart, the expansion or contraction of blood-vessels, the flow of tears, the tone of the muscles, the growth-rate, the production of mucus, the turgidity of the skin, the secretion of hormones, etc. The nervous system can be compared to the electronic control apparatus of a highly complex machine, like a telephone exchange or an automatic pilot.

Think of the nerves of your body as a network of super highways, the pressure points as gates along the highways. When a jam occurs, the messages and things that travel along that highway are trapped at an impasse. These impasses in the body lead ultimately to health problems concerning your health. Acupuncture clears up these impasses in the body so that it will flow freely again causing the problem to disappear.

The ancient Chinese held that Qi, the energy of life, flows along the acupuncture meridians, just as the blood flows along the blood-vessels; and it is the uninterrupted flow of this energy that keeps human beings healthy and alive. If the flow it is impeded in certain part of the organism, the result will be disease. So the acupuncturist’s aim is reestablishing the normal flow of Qi by stimulating strategic points. Perhaps the flow of Qi along the meridian and the flow of electrical energy along a nerve are two different ways, one ancient and one modern, of expressing the same idea.

3. How Much Acute Rhinitis Damages Your Health?

Home Page Chinese Page Dr. Liang Testimonials E-Mail Us Check-Up List Up Top

Acute rhinitis, that is present as acute inflammation in nasal mucus, is the direct or indirect cause of many diseases. It is characterized by acute inflammation of nasal mucus. In 1998, according to the estimation by the National Disease Control Center in Atlanta, flu caused by Wuhan Type A influenza virus wreaked havoc over 38 USA states killing 20,000 people. Nasal mucosal infection by a virus (e.g. Myxovirus, Adenovirus etc.) or bacteria (e.g. mycoplasma pneumonia, Streptococcus pyogenes, etc.) can  rapidly expand from the upper respiratory tract to the entire respiratory tract, and can even cause general toxic conditions throughout the body. Acute rhininitis frequently occurs during seasonal changes, particularly between October and February. People with various chronic diseases or with a weak physique, particularly elderly people living in caring centers and the young, are more susceptible.

The clinical symptoms for acute rhininitis include: headache (in the front of the head or around the eyes), facial pain (around the eyes, forehead or  cheeks); pain in the roof of the mouth or in the teeth, thick nasal drainage (yellow, yellow-green), fever, chills, general ill feeling, and swelling around the eyes. Additional symptoms that may be associated with this disease include: sore throat, nose bleeding, bad breath, etc. These symptoms are more severe in people who were re-infected after recovery. In this case, inflammation occurring in nasal mucus can reach the ear and throat tracts and then causes acute otitis media, pharyngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, pleurisy, pneumonia, and other diseases or a combination of these diseases. People with a good physique usually recover in a week. However, these symptoms may be converted to chronic sinusitis, the prolonged course of the disease, for those people with a weak physique, may be converted into the chronic sinusitis including.

The conservative common western medications used for these symptoms include steroid nasal sprays, guaifenesin, oral decongestants, decongestant nasal spray, vaporizer, antibiotics, etc. Unfortunately, all of these medications are only used only to relieve the symptoms. Medicines that can directly kill viruses have not been developed. Thus, often sufferers try to avoid the disease by getting vaccination shots. However, influenza viruses, that usually contain high mutation frequencies, make it more difficult to develop the drugs that can kill these viruses or the vaccines that can be used to prevent the disease.

The Nasal Herb Treatment Developed by Dr. Liang

The Herbal Nasal Treatment I have developed uses Chinese herbs administered in the nasal passages. Here, the Oriental herbal nasal suppository is placed into the nasal passage where the herbs can be absorbed directly by the mucus membrane nodes. The absorption of herbs reacts by making tremendous amounts of adjustments all over the human body. Then the body regains health in places such as the nervous system, respiratory systems, regions connected to nasal passages, etc. Traditional western treatments, such as taking pills orally, are less effective than using our Herbal Nasal External Treatment. A pill has to go through the GI Digestive System and undergo Liver Metabolism decreasing the potency of the pill as it is broken down in the GI Digestive System and passes through Liver Metabolism. As a result the concentration of the medication in your blood stream is not enough to treat your illness. Due to that, doctors find it necessary to increase the dosage, which may cause even more unwanted side effects. Moreover, it wastes the consumer’s money. After going through the GI Digestive System and Liver Metabolism System the pill has been reduced to 40% of its original strength. On the other hand, our Herbal Nasal Treatment is absorbed directly into the nasal passage and begins to work at nearly 100% strength because it does not go through the breakdown path that a pill does. The medicine directly enters the body's blood stream during absorption by the mucous membrane nodes.

The theory behind membrane absorption, our treatment, is a proven safe and effective method of treatment. Recently a doctor at CALTECH has researched and found that the absorption of medication through the mucus membrane is a superior way and is a faster way to get medicine into the body and begin creating helpful results. Further, it was found that medication absorbed through the membrane can treat not only the nose but all kinds of illnesses that exist in the body. Our treatment uses a similar method of medicine delivery that is found in nasal sprays that prevent the flu. At this point, medicine is administered into the nasal passage ways and then absorbed by the mucus membrane to provide our patient with the most effective, complete, and cost efficient treatment as possible. With this evidence using the mucus membrane nodes as a key point for treatment of the whole body, plus the diagnosis of an experienced doctor, and the correct formula of medication, our treatment can nearly give you complete relief.

4. Prevention and treatment of diseases needs one to maintain healthy eating and drinking habits.

Home Page Chinese Page Dr. Liang Testimonial E-Mail Us Check-Up List Up Top

Diet therapy uses foods and diet to treat diseases. Moderating food consumption is one part of the treatment process and elimination of allergens is another.  During the period of disease/allergy, patients need to abstain from the certain foods that may compromise or reduce effects of therapy. For example, if a patient is troubled by coughing, it would not be appropriate to eat raw foods, cold type foods, fruits of a cool or diuretic nature, frozen foods or refrigerated beverages such as dairy products, watermelon, pineapple, bananas, pickled vegetables, large head cabbage, small Napa cabbage or ice cream. It is important to note that cold temperature foods, foods and drinks that are refrigerated and/or frozen may not be a cold type food, but can become one by overly reducing the temperature of the food or drink. In addition, abstaining from hot/stimulating or spicy foods such as pungent spices, deep fried food, duck, shrimp, shellfish, peanuts, and all varieties of nuts is necessary as well. Stimulating foods may cause a recurrence of an old illness. There are three types of the stimulating foods based on Chinese medicine:

1) Animal products: Foods derived from animals may contain hormones which cause the body hyperfunction or metabolic disorders. For instance, over-dose of corticosteroid (ex. cortisone) supply may cause ulcer bleeding and seizures.

2) Stimulating foods such as wines and other alcoholic beverages, may cause inflammation to spread.

3) Eating foods that one is allergic to may cause a recurrence of an allergic illness. For example, fish and shrimp could cause the recurrence of nettle rash (or urticaria). Therefore, it is important to adjust one's eating behavior. This is why I request patients to abstain from certain foods during the treatment in order to achieve the best results for a healthy future.

5. A Brief Discussion of Sinusitis

Home Page Chinese Page Dr. Liang Testimonials E-Mail Us Check-Up List Up Top

Many people who exhibit conditions such as nasal obstruction or blockage, an excessive flow of viscous phlegm, dizziness, headaches, neck or shoulder pain, sleepiness, and post nasal drip of viscous phlegm into the pharyngeal area or larynx with the resulting itching irritation, coughing, coughing with sputum, throat discomfort, aversion to cold, body discomfort, and flu-like symptoms may indeed be suffering from sinusitis. Although many patients try many therapies and visit all kinds of doctors, their efforts produce unsatisfactory results. Although the anti-inflammatory properties of antibiotics may help somewhat, antibiotics only provide temporary relief. Moreover, year after year the patients' conditions continue to worsen at an alarming rate. What can be done to effectively deal with this critical situation?

What Causes Sinusitis?

According to Dr. Kin C. Liang of the Arcadia Acupuncture Medical Group and Natural Herbs Center, all of the above-listed symptoms are characteristic of sinusitis. There are two types of sinusitis; acute sinusitis and chronic sinusitis. Sinusitis is a purulent inflammatory condition of the sinus membranes. The structure of the nose is similar to a three storied building with a basement. In the middle area, the interior of the nose is divided into two nasal cavities; surrounding these cavities are over eight sinuses, filled with an abundance of mucous membranes (The sinuses are on the "second floor" and the "third floor"; between the sinuses and the nasal cavities there is a "passageway" which functions like a "staircase"). Sinusitis may be of the simple or multiple variety, depending on the strength or weakness of the patient's natural resistance. The causes of simple or multiple sinusitis are discussed below.

(1) Generalized Causes of Sinusitis

Sinusitis often occurs after a decrease in the body's natural resistance to disease, excessive tiredness, exposure to dampness and cold temperatures, a nutritionally deficient diet, an unclean living or work environment, etc.  In addition, some sinusitis sufferers have unusual bodily constitutions, ailments affecting the whole body (such as anemia, diabetes), secretory illnesses (such as thyroid, pituitary gland, or gonad hypo-function), upper respiratory tract infections, and acute infections (the flu, measles, scarlet fever), all of which can lead to sinusitis.

(2) Localized Causes of Sinusitis often occurs after a person has suffered from acute or chronic rhinitis, deviation of nasal septum, hypertrophy of the nasal conchae, allergy type rhinitis, nasal polyps, foreign matter in the nasal cavity or tumors (All of these may block the nasal passage and obstruct ventilation drainage in the nose).

(3) Infection from Neighboring Organs Tonsillitis, enlarged adenoids and chronic inflammation of the tooth marrow, can all lead to sinusitis.

(4) Direct infection can be from external injuries to the sinuses.  Automobile accidents. bone fractures or foreign matter penetrating the sinuses, swimming, diving into water, improper snorkeling / skin diving / scuba diving, or polluted water squeezing into the sinuses, can all result in sinusitis.

How Do Doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnose Sinusitis?

Since sinusitis is often caused by infections entering the body or by chronic rhinitis, at its inception it may exhibit symptoms such as chills with fever, diminished appetite, general body discomfort, and other externalized factors. Children suffering from sinusitis may suffer from nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, coughing, and digestive tract disorders, restlessness, emotional instability, inability to concentrate, and hyperactivity. All of the above symptoms may be induced by sinusitis.

Wind-heat obstructing the nasal cavity causes stuffy nose with excessive phlegm that is yellow and turbid. When the two pathological evils, wind and heat, rise up to interfere with sinus function, the qi energy flowing in the body's channels or meridians becomes obstructed and the flow of Yang qi becomes blocked. This can lead to various types of headaches. Afterwards, the superficies superficial syndrome (the stage where the illness is manifested close to the body's surface) subsides and the interior heat syndrome (the stage where the illness enters the deeper layers of the body) becomes progressively stronger. This causes the nasal phlegm to become thicker and more turbid, with headaches increasing in severity. These symptoms are frequently accompanied by thirstiness, dry and constipated bowel movements, urination of short duration with reddish colored urine, thin yellowish fur on the tongue or whitish grey tongue fur with little saliva, and a floating rapid pulse. Each sinus cavity, depending on its location, is connected to a different channel and meridian. The pressures generated by each particular sinus ailment result in different types of headaches; these headache types may be classified as follows:

a) In cases of sphenoidal sinusitis and posterior bulla sinusitis, the headache is felt at the crown of the head, the base of the skull, or and deep within the eyeballs, radiating to the pars occipitalis (the back of the head), reaching as far as the neck, and the area behind the ears. This is an ailment of the Taiyangjing or Yang Major Channel. This condition will be mild in the morning when the patient arises, and become progressively worse after the noon hour.

b) In cases of maxillary sinusitis, the headache is felt in the forehead and cheeks extending to the upper teeth. This condition is classified as a Yangming channel syndrome. The pain involved is also mild in the morning and worse in the afternoon.

c) In frontal sinusitis and anterior bulla sinusitis, the headache is felt at the temples and over the eyebrows, and recurs in cycles. These ailments are classified as Shaoyang channel syndromes. These symptoms are initially mild in the morning when a person arises, and then become progressively severe. They begin to decrease in severity after the noon hour, and finally disappear in the evening. This same pattern repeats the following day.

The treatment of sinusitis adheres to three guidelines:

1. Eliminate the root cause of the ailment

2. Maintain unobstructed ventilation drainage

3. Control infection and guard against complications.

The nasal cavity should be kept clean and moist. Accumulated phlegm and deposits in the nose should be frequently flushed out. Minimize use of vasoconstrictor type nasal aerosols.

Abstain from certain foods, spicy or hot foods, foods that dry out or heat up the body, and foods that may cause allergic reactions (such as shrimp, shellfish, etc.)

Exercise frequently but avoid strenuous exercise. Guard against colds and influenza. Strengthen your body's natural resistance to infections.

Improve your work environment. Maintain clean air and humidity. Wear a gauze mask over your mouth.

Find an experienced doctor. Get accurate diagnosis and proper treatment at the earliest possible date. Don't postpone or avoid a visit to the doctor.

Clinical Case:

Ms. Hsu, 38 years old, church employee, suffered for over twenty years from sinusitis and nasal ailments. She tried various types of treatments for over ten years. Circumstances compelled her to immigrate (from Asia) to Los Angeles. After an affliction of cold / influenza virus, her natural body resistance was lowered, and her nasal problems resumed with intensity. Although she had undergone surgery for removal of nasal polyps, her bout with cold / influenza virus was accompanied by dizziness, a heavy feeling in her head, headaches, soreness or pain in her neck and shoulders, yellow pus-like nasal discharge, and post-nasal drip of pus-like mucous into the mouth and throat. This gave rise to itching, coughing and mouth or throat discomfort. When she was examined, the doctor discovered that all of the above were caused by acute attacks of chronic sinusitis and its resulting syndrome. Meanwhile, her allergy type rhinitis and nasopharyngeal stasis became more serious day by day. After receiving several of our special externally applied herbal treatments, her condition noticeably improved. After three treatment periods, all of her above-mentioned symptoms had, for the most part, disappeared. After another five treatments to give her additional strength, her health was completely restored.

Try Dr. Liang's herbal application treatment! This is excellent for Allergy rhinitis, Sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose, itching eyes, sinusitis, hypertrophic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, swollen nasal polyps, post nasal drip, shortness breath, coughing, asthma, loss of smell, soreness nasal bone, persistent headaches, long term insomnia, weakened memory, ears ringing, dizziness, stiffness of the neck.

Causes of nasal ailments:

Nasal ailments are caused by the changing of the seasons, air pollution, excessively dry climate, extreme fluctuations between daytime temperature and night time temperature, a profusion of grasses, flowers, and pollen in the environment, stressful lifestyle, etc. Often the symptoms of a given ailment may take several years to manifest. Symptoms include frequent sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose, itching eyes, etc. Over an extended period of time, these symptoms may lead to complications such as nasal sinusitis, swollen nasal polyps, post nasal drip, nasal hemorrhoids, diminished sense of smell, accumulation of pus in the nose, hypertrophic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis, soreness of the nasal bone caused by excessive stasis in the nasopharyngeal area, persistent headaches over the course of many years or long term insomnia, weakened memory, ringing in the ears, dizziness, stiffness of the neck, etc.

Types of nasal ailments and their complications:

Nasal problems are rather complex. They can be divided roughly into three categories: Allergy type rhinitis, Acute and chronic rhinitis, Acute and chronic sinusitis and are accompanied by the following symptoms:

1.  Allergy type rhinitis

Symptoms are sneezing, clear mucus discharge, stuffy nose, itching sensation in the nostrils, eyes, and throat, dizziness, headaches, even tears, and/or soreness of the bridge of the nose throughout the year. This ailment will erupt in response to mild stimuli, exhibiting the severest symptoms during the morning hours or when there is a change in the weather.

2.  Acute and chronic rhinitis

Symptoms are nasal stuffiness alternating on either side of the nose, viscous or pus-like nasal discharge, often dripping into the mouth and/or the windpipe, diminishing sense loss of smell, dry throat, dry cough, dizziness, headaches, soreness of the bridge of the nose and the forehead, difficulty breathing, and swollen nasal membranes.

3.  Acute and chronic sinusitis

7.Is allergic rhinitis (or hay fever, spring fever) curable?

Allergic rhinitis is also called hay fever or spring fever, which usually occurs in the spring season when flowers are blossoming and pollens and grass scraps are spread by the windthe pollen count is high. Allergies cause a wide range of symptoms, from the common problems such as a runny nose, nasal congestion, sneezing; watery, itchy, red eyes; and itchy ears to less obvious problems like a tickle in the throat, cough, asthma, wheezing, shortness of breath, hives, eczema, and so forth. Allergic rhinitis usually occurs upon stimulation, particularly in the morning or during sudden whether changes. In addition, air pollution, psychological factors, and hereditary factors all can cause effect allergic symptoms. People develop allergy problemsic reactions because of an overactive immune system. The immune system of human body produces various immunoglobulins (e.g. IgG, IgA, IgMand IgM) upon microbial attack. In the case of allergies, one of immunoglobulins, IgE is abnormally produced. When IgE reacts with allergens a barrage of chemicals including histamine are released from mast cells. These chemicals could cause blood vessel dilatation and as a result nasal mucosa starts to have allergic reactions. Antihistamines and steroids are currently used to treat the symptoms by the current medicine treatment. However, the drugs may only be used for a short-term relief and the side effects of using these drugs are manycan not be ignored such as dizzy, fatigues and decrease in the thinking abilities. Steroids can also cause other problems like gastric ulcer, hypertension, osteoporosis, menoxenia, and so forth. De-allergen therapy may be the last method to be used. However, how many times of de-allergen therapies you want to try since there are so many different allergens?with so many allergens that are in the world, doing de-allergen therapy for all of them would be impossible. Thus, people should be changed in order to fit into the environmental changes.

An all natural herbal nasal treatment, based on the extracts from all natural herbs has been developed by Dr. Liang to treat patients with allergic problems. The principles of this treatment have been described previously and results of treatment are proven safe and absolutely reliable. In brief, the nasal herb treatment just goes into the nasal passage and this medicine starts to work at near 100% treatment strength because it does not go undergo the breakdown path as a pill does passing through the digestive system. Through mucosal action, the medicine directly enters the body's circulation system. The treatment has been tested by more than 10,000 patients and is recommended by Taiwan Chinese traditional medical institutes and American Chinese traditional medical institutes.

8. How harmful can nosebleed and epistaxis be?

Home Page Chinese Page Dr. Liang Testimonials E-Mail Us Check-Up List Up Top

Nosebleeds are one of the common symptoms of nose disease disorders. Nosebleeds can be caused from the inherent structure of nose, allergies, and/or whole body problems with the nose itself as well as from problems in other areas of the body. More seriously, however, nosebleeds can cause a person to go into shock, if prolonged bleeding occurs. Usually, the sites for nosebleeds are located under the front of the nasal septum surrounded by a collection of veins.

The pathogeny pathology (reason for the cause of disease)

Allergies:

Most (75-80%) allergy problems are due to reactions to foods. For example, fowl (chicken, turkey, goose, chicken eggs), nuts (peanut, walnut. cashew), spicy (chile peppers, Garlic, green onion), wheat, corn, soy, yeast, pasteurized and homogenized milk, shellfish, refined foods, artificial colors and flavors, to name a few, can cause allergic reactions. Eating the same foods and/or beverages frequently may be a source of allergies as well.

Other causes of allergies include dust, smoke, air pollution, air temperature or humidity changes, goose down pillows.

Allergies may easily, quickly and affordably be found and removed by using Dr. Liang’s DNA testing and desensitizing methods.

Local pathogeny:

Trauma: Trauma to the nasal cavity, sinuses and parasinuses. For example, scratching with a finger, blowing one's nose with too much force, excessive nose blowing, violent sneezing, foreign bodies in the nasal cavity, etc. These all can damage the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa and cause nosebleeds.

Sinusitis: The specific and nonspecific inflammation of the nasal cavity and the nasal sinus can cause nosebleeds due to damage of the nasal mucosa. Nonspecific inflammation includes disorders occurring in the nasal septum. For instance, malformation of the nasal septum, erosion, ulcers, and or perforations in the nasal septum can cause nosebleeds.

Tumor: Cancer in the nasal cavity, the sinuses, and the throat or the pharynx can become festered and cause nosebleeds.

The whole body pathology:

Acute infectious diseases: flu, measles, malaria, typhoid, and hepatitis etc.

Cardiovascular diseases: Hypertension, vascular sclerosis, and hyperemia heart failure

Blood diseases: hemophilia

Malnutrition: Deficiencies in Vitamins C, K, or P, or Calcium

Chronic liver and kidney diseases or rheumatic fever: Damage in liver functions could cause blood coagulation problems

Poisoning: Some chemicals such as phosphate, mercury, arsenic, phenol etc. could damage the blood-forming system

Inherited capillary bleeding

Imbalance of the endocrine system

Prevention and treatment of nose bleeding

To avoid nose bleeding, it is the best if the patient exercises more, avoids cold environments, drinks more water during dry weather, and abstains from eating raw and/or, cold foods. The patient also needs to avoid placing objects into the nose ( ex. fingers) and to keep from injuring the nose. In addition, there are some other ways to soothe nosebleeds by using modern technologies such as electric treatment and by using steroids. However, all these treatments give temporary relief only. These treatments come with side effects and only treat the symptoms. The traditional pathogeny pathology indicates that the symptom of nose bleeding could be due to functional imbalance of various organs such as lungs, liver, stomach, spleen, etc. Based on a diaeclectic (using more than one method at a time) Chinese medicine, medical theory indicates that " treatment of acute ailments are focused on relieving the immediate complaints; while the treatment of chronic ailments should focus on improving the patient’s entire body system. Dr Liang has based his herbal nasal treatment on this theory. In acute cases of disease, the treatment will be focused to relieving the immediate symptoms. On the other hand, in chronic cases of disease the treatment will be focused on the adjustment of the functions among different organs such as lungs, livers, spleens, thus improving the body system as a whole.

Animals have special smells to seduce the opposite sex or to present special signals. However, halitosis is so annoying for people and sometimes may make people embarrassed or have a bad impact on people's relationship. Thus, some people have to brush their teeth frequently. Actually, the causes of halitosis areHalitosis (bad breath) can be a big problem. It can impact a person’s relationship with other. Not only that Halitosis is often an indication of bigger problems occurring in the body. There are several causes of halitosis:

Localized causes:

Halitosis may be resulted from teeth problems and could be taken care by dentists. Sometimes, remains of foods can also cause theare the cause to the problems. For example, remains of garlic, onion, and peppermint could produce the strange smells and cause halitosis. Halitosis In this case the halitosis could be improved upon changing people's eating behaviorwith a change of diet.

Generalized causes:

Some diseases can make special smells including patients with diabetes, Uremia patients, ailments of liver functions; high fever; gangrene; diseases of the upper respiratory tract. An example being, patients with sinusitis, tonsillitis, or pharyngitis will produce cheese-like smells in their mouth or nose.

How do you prevent and treat halitosis resulted resulting from the nasal diseases?

Even though halitosis can be very annoying you can prevent from getting halitosis as long as you maintain in good mood, take care of your oral hygiene and maintain good eating behavior. Otherwise, hHalitosis can be the result from of different diseases. Nasal diseases are the most likely the cause of halitosis if chronic liver and kidney diseases are excludeddisorders are the third leading cause of halitosis.. The secretion from the nasal cavity flows forward to the stomach cavity, cause acidic-resistant bacterial strains to grow and cause the ailment of digestive secretstomach acid secretion disorder, peristalsis deviation, and drainage difficulty., and a As a result, patients are left with halitosis because of fermentation of rotten foods. Chronic halitosis may further cause the immune system toyour immunity decline. Thus, it is important to get diagnosed and clinic treated. It is therefore important that one does not let nasal disorders linger untreated. Currently, Dr. Liang has developed the nasal herb external treatment that has been successfully used for the treatment. The principles of this treatment have been described previously.

11. Prevention and treatment of diseases need to be moderate in eating and drinking

Home Page Chinese Page Dr. Liang Testimonials E-Mail Us Check-Up List Up Top

Diet therapy is using foodsis the use of certain foods and a change in diet to treat diseases. Moderating in eating and drinking is the opposite of diet therapy. During the period of diseases, patients need to abstain from the certain foods whichfoods that may compromise or reduce effects of therapy. A typical example is cough. For example, when the patient has a cough it is not appropriate to eat raw and, cold foods, such as fruits of a cool or diuretic nature, frozen or refrigerated beverages (dairy products, watermelon, pineapple, bananas, pickled vegetables, large head cabbage, small Napa cabbage, and ice cream), and stimulating foods and spicy foods (pungent spices, deep fried food, duck, shrimp, shellfish, peanuts, and all varieties of nuts). Patients should also abstain from the stimulating foods which could cause a recurrence of an old illness. There are three types of the stimulating foods based on Chinese medicine:

Foods derived from animals may contain hormones whichhormones that cause the body hyperfunction and metabolic disorderover-stimulation of the metabolism. For example, over dose of corticosteroid supply may cause bleeding ulcers bleeding and sezureseizures.

Stimulating foods, such as winesAlcoholic Beverages-which may, may cause inflammation to spread.

Allergic foods may- which may cause a recurrence of an allergic illness. For example, fish and shrimp could cause the recurrence of nettle rash (or urticaria). Thus, iIt is thus important to adjust a patient’speople's eating behavior when they are undergoing treatment for a disease. Proper diet and proper treatment together will work to help the patient relieve the sickness.. This is why I request patients to abstain from certain foods during the treatment in order to achieve the best treating results.

13. A Patient Letter

Dear Dr. Liang:

The medicines you sent me have arrived and I have started using them. The nose suppository has a pleasant fragrance and fairly easy to apply. But, to tell the truth, I don't like to use the rectal suppository. I am writing to ask you if it is possible to take the rectal suppository by mouth?  I don't mind using it the right way before bed time, but I prefer taking it through mouth during the day time.  Thanks for answering my question.

Answer to Patient

Dear patient,

Although I understand your reasons for wanting to take the medicine orally, the answer to your question is no. There is a reason why the medicine is placed in a suppository form. The medicine is more effective in a suppository form than it would ever be if you would have taken it orally. The medicine in it’s present form is designed to give the patient the most effective treatment in the shortest amount of time. To find out why please read the article on the Why put Herbs in a Suppository.

14. Why Put Herbs is a Suppository?

Why Put Herbs is a Suppository?

Suppositories are solid dosage forms of varying weights and shapes.  They are usually medicated for the insertion into various body cavities such as the rectum, vagina, nasal, and urethra.  When inserted, the suppository base either melts or dissolves.  This action releases the medicaments and allows it to mix with the cavity fluids.  The fluid will carry the medicament to the tissues which will then absorb the medicament.  The medicament can either have localized effects or systemic effects.  The use of suppositories dates back to the early Egyptians, Greeks and Romans.  They are particularly useful in administering medicine to the very young and very old.  The common suppository is approximately 2g each and is tapered at one or both ends. Suppositories used by children are approximated half the size and weight of the adult suppositories.   There are already several types of Suppositories that can be found today. Suppositories can have a local effect or it can have a systemic effect on the body.

The Digestive tract and the liver of the body are known to breakdown the medicine's effectiveness.  This is because the acidic environment or certain enzymatic activity of the stomach and intestines will often interact with the drugs and break down the medicine.  Second, the portal circulation that takes the drugs to the liver also plays a big part in destroying the effectiveness of the drug. Thus, in order for the strength of treatment to stay the same, more medicine must be taken. Suppositories are a way for the medicine to be directly absorbed into the bloodstream and thus bypass the digestive tract. There are several advantages to administering medicine using suppositories as a vehicle. Transmucosal action allows the medicament to bypass the digestive system and the portal circulation to the liver. Because it bypasses the digestive tract, the effectiveness of the treatment remains undiminished. Also, the amount of time that the medicine takes to have an effect is quicker.  Medicines that can be destroyed or inactivated by the pH or enzymatic activity of the stomach or intestines can bypass these destructive environments when the medicine is in a suppository form.  Medicines that can easily irritate the stomach may also be given using suppositories without causing such irritation.  Suppositories can also preserve drugs that can be destroyed by the portal circulation, which takes the medicine to the liver where it is broken down.  This is because medicine enters the portal circulation only after oral administration and absorption.  The use of suppositories also makes it easier to administer medicine to patients who are too young, debilitated, comatose, or otherwise unable or unwilling to swallow medicine.  It is also useful route of treatment for patients with nausea, vomiting episodes, and other gastrointestinal disturbances.  In most cases the amount of medicine that is administered is less than the amount that is needed when taking the medicine orally.

Eastern medicine has been using medicinal herbs to safely and effectively treat many ailments for thousands of years.  These herbs are safe because when taken there are almost no side effects. These herbs also will have little chance of causing harmful reaction when taken together with another herb or even another Western drug medication.  Different herbs have different medicinal properties, and putting various herbs together will produce a medicine that can treat a certain type of ailment.

Presently there are several ways of taking Chinese herbs.  The first is to take the actual herbs and boil them to make an herbal tonic tea for drinking.  Another way that is more modern is to have the herbs turned into a powder form and then packed into gel capsules.  This method can eliminate the bad taste of the medicine. Both are effective.  However, both must be taken in large quantities in order to have an effect.  The first method is abhorrent to many because of its extreme bad taste and its inconvenience in preparation and portability. Though more preferable than the first, taking herbs in gel capsules is also abhorrent to many because some cannot or do not like to swallow so many capsules.  Although this is more convenient than the herbal tonic tea, its effectiveness is weaker than the herbal tonic tea.

There is need to find a new way to administer traditional herbal medicine. This is because although they are safer than and are effective in treating some disease, the quantities that must be taken are too much and the taste of the medicine is bitter.  So by putting the herbal medicine in a suppository form, the need to taste the medicine is eliminated.  The herbal medicine in suppository form will bypass the digestive system and thus the portal circulation to the liver.  Because of this, the medicine is directly absorbed into the blood stream, the medicine’s effectiveness is not decreased, and thus the dosage of medicine can be smaller.  Another result of direct absorption into the blood circulation is the increased speed at which the medicine takes effect.  The Digestive Tract can take hours to process a medicine that is ingested, depending on the environment of the stomach at the time of ingestion and the system's absorption ability.  Then, the portal circulation takes the medicine to the liver where it is further broken down before it moves on to the rest of the body. This is mainly why medicines that are ingested take a while to have an effect.  By putting traditional Herbal medicine in a suppository, this invention brings together the best characteristics of these two different treatments (i.e., herbs and suppository) and puts them into one product, the herbal suppository.

When the suppository is inserted into the body cavity, the body fluids and the temperature of the body cavity help to dissolve the suppository, which then releases the medicine.  Then through transmucosal absorption, the medicine is absorbed into the body.

Transmucosal action is done mainly through diffusion.  The medicament is absorbed through the mucous membranes into the blood stream and quickly taken to the cells.  The suppositories when inserted, will completely dissolve within approximately 30-60 minutes.  This insures efficient absorption of medicine.
Suppositories have been used for a long time in western medicine.  It is a quick and effective way to administer medicine.  The results are more often faster and more effective than medicines that are ingested.  The amount of medicine that is administered by suppository is also in most cases much less than the medicine that one must take to get the same effect by ingestion.
The variety of diseases that herbal medicine can help with is endless. The Chinese have been using the same herbs to treat illness for thousands of years.  It stands to reason that if it did not work then it would not have been in use for so long.  However, traditional herbal medicines are not common ways or forms of treatment because although they are effective and safe, a lot more herbal medicine needs to be taken to cure an illness.  In addition, herbal medicines have an extremely bitter taste that is intolerable to most people. It is also inconvenient because one has to cook the herbs into a tonic in order to take it.  It is both time consuming and is an inconvenience to the busy lives of people today
By putting herbs in a suppository, it will bring together the advantages of suppositories as a treatment vehicle and the safe and effective healing properties of herbal medicine.  It will bypass the digestive system so that the stomach and the liver will not break down the medicine’s effectiveness.  When this happens, the amount of medicine that needs to be administered can be decreased.  The digestive system is a slow moving system so medicines that are ingested are not absorbed into the body until a while after ingestion. Then the liver action of the body will further break down the contents of the stomach.  By bypassing the digestive system and the liver, the medicine will work faster because it will be quickly absorbed into the body and into the bloodstream.  This will also make herbal medicines more tolerable for those who dislike the taste because this method of administering medicine does not require ingestion. This will be especially helpful in delivering herbal medicine to patients such as the very young, the elderly, and others who may have difficulty in taking the conventional dosage form of herbal medicine (i.e., herbal tonic teas and gel capsules, etc.).  In conclusion, it is the best of both treatments in one.

15.Duration and Response to Treatment

Home Page Chinese Page Dr. Liang Testimonials E-Mail Us Check-Up List Up Top

The average patient with chronic disease of several years' duration requires about seven treatment cycles to be cured or to achieve the greatest amount of relief possible. Mild diseases need fewer treatmentsrequire less cycles, the really more servere conditions require more cyclesones more.

About half the patients successfully treatedRoughly half of all our patients notice a response at the first treatment, some highly sensitive people within seconds of the needles being inserted. Others will only noticed this initial response after several hours, days or, very occasionally, weeks.

The initial response is often heralded either by an increase of general energy and awareness or by a felling of pleasant, drowsy relaxation: as a rule the phlegmaticlethargic patient feeling feels more energetic and the overly tense patient more relaxed. Thereafter the patient will observe that several of his symptoms, though not necessarily all, have improved. But this will not last. It will wear off after some hours, or days, and the treatment then will have to be repeated; but with every repetition the patient will notice a more pronounced improvement and for a longer period before it diminishes.

The greater the degree of improvement, the longer it lasts with each successive treatment and the less the original symptoms return after it has worn off, the more rapidly will the patient recover. Improvement follows an irregular course, some treatments helping more than others till finally, by a cumulative effect, they achieve total cure.

In treating the more severe chronic diseases of long duration, it often happens that a patient, who has been cured of his illness, will notice after some time a recurrence of his symptoms. In most cases this can be successfully dealt with by one or two further treatments. With the more intractable diseases there may be several such recurrence, each as a rule milder than the last, separated from it by a longer interval and needing fewer treatments for its cure. Often a single treatment is sufficient. Though following an irregular course, the recurrence becomerecurrences become so attenuated that the original disease is eventually cured, or, at the least, very nearly cured. These recurrence only happen, if at all, in the more severe chronic diseases; and some failures in the treatment of these by acupuncture are due to the patient's failure to come back for treatment if he notices a recurrence of his symptoms.

16. Dialectical Relationship between Nose and GI System

Home Page Chinese Page Dr. Liang Testimonials E-Mail Us Check-Up List Up Top

  1. Dominant(visabal) sinusitis and concealed(hidden) sinusitis.

Dominant(Dominant (visabalvisible) sinusitis and concealed (hidden) sinusitis. The structure of a nose looks like a three-floor building structure with a basement. The nasal cavity, separated by the nasal septum, is embedded by more than 20 para-nasal sinuses that contain enriched mucus. When you have frequent sinusitis, or the infection lasts three months or more, it could become chronic sinusitis. The secretion from the nasal cavity could flow backwards to the lungs, the stomach and intestines (the basement structure). Based on strength of an individual physique, the disease could cause simply-occurring or frequently-occurring nasosinusitis. In terms of different symptoms, nasos sinusitis may be divided by dominant or concealed.

  2. The new discoveries by Dr. Liang

In the winter, many people appear to have the symptoms such as swelling of stomach, indigestion, vomiting, etc., other symptoms like hyperacidity in gastric juice, feeling of scorching hot in the stomach, etc. These symptoms usually accompany with problems occurring in the upper respiratory tract: stuffy nose, nasal congestion, runny nose, or sneezing, coughing, headache, chills, and neck and should pain, etc. Thus, these diseases are related to each other. Possibly, the problems occurring in the stomach and intestines may be due to the problems occurring in the nose.

  3. Close relationship between nasal diseases and the digestive tracts

Results from some studies have indicated that there are more than 200 different types of bacteria and viruses in the secretion of nasal cavity. A large amount of secretion drained from the nasal cavity back to the chest and the basement; may cause allergic inflammation, a poor peristalsis, as well as secretion unbalance, may disturb the functions of parasympathetic nervous system, and further lead to the decline in the immune functions.

  4. Treatment of the combined gastric and nasal diseases by means of Chinese medicines developed by Dr. Liang

The series of the medicine is naturally formulated by a complex of herb extracts and used through both the nasal external treatment and the rectal treatment. The medicines are expected to be absorbed through blood capillary in mucosa without going through the stomach digestion and liver detoxifying, thus the largest biological availability will be obtained through the procedure. The treatment is expected to improve the function of the parasympathetic nervous system, and to take actions locally at the nasal cavity.

Patient X.

October 3, 2005

Dr. Liang,

I am writing this testimonial to express my deepest thanks to you for your new and innovative healing methods; especially the herbal remedies that you developed. Your herbal remedies have made such a difference in my health and well being.  This has been a long road for me, one that has been ongoing for 35 years, but I truly feel I am coming to the end of my journey.

I had searched the Internet many times before and had found nothing to help me.  I started praying specifically for an answer to this problem and was led to go back on the Internet and try one more time and there was Dr. Liang’s web site.  For whatever reason, it did not come up in my other searches. I do believe things happen and come about when you are truly ready for them.

BACKGROUND OF PROBLEM

I have had upper stomach/heartburn/sternum pain on and off for 35 years.  I had been to many western doctors over the years and have had a battery of tests; sonograms, upper GI’s, ultrasounds and a full body scan.  Nothing showed, of which I am grateful, but the problem was not being found and solved.

Two years ago, besides still having the pain in the stomach/sternum area I was also having dizziness, pressure and ringing in the ears, congestion in the head and felt like I had constant sinus infections.  I saw a specialist for allergies and also a specialist for the ears, nose and throat.  I had a CT scan for the sinuses and again nothing was found.  The western doctors answer to this was to give me drugs for all the problems and pain.  Most of the drugs made me feel much sicker and certainly did not CURE me.  The drugs only mask the symptoms in most cases and do not cure the problem.  I have had some background in the medical profession and was finding it hard to find a doctor that believed, or more importantly was trained, to find an answer to my problem without using drugs.

In the last few years I had taken care of and lost a number of loved ones in a very short space of time.  This experience plus a sedentary life style and eating to many of the wrong foods had taken a real toll on my health.

DR. LIANG’S TREATMENT

I filled out Dr. Liang’s online questionnaire and went to his office in Temple City, CA-near Los Angeles.  This is an 11hour round trip for me, but well worth the effort.  At this time I was also feeling extremely weak and tired inside.  It is not the same as physical or mental tiredness.  You actually feel like your insides can’t function for you anymore and sustain your life.  You must lay down and rest or sleep immediately.  It is a very scary feeling and comes on very suddenly.  I didn’t know if I would be able to drive that far to see Dr. Liang, but I knew he was my only hope.  I had exhausted every other avenue.

Dr. Liang found I had extremely weak organs and digestive problems.  He treated these 2 problems first with his herbs. When these treatments were finished Dr. Liang found a secondary problem that came to light.  Dr. Liang told me to expect this.  When he tested me the STRONGEST problem would show up and very likely there would be other lesser problems that would come to light when the strongest one was healed.  That is exactly what has happened.  As soon as the organs were strengthened he found I had specific allergies that the allergy specialist missed.  The allergy specialists usually test for only common food allergies and other common allergies for the area you live in using a skin prick test.  Dr. Liang did a complete blood work up and actually does the testing himself at his office to really zero in on the allergies.  Dr. also has a new and more extensive way to test for allergies that involves NO blood work up and is precise and very easy for the patient to do.  It is what I call a “user friendly” test and treatment.  I believe Dr. Liang is a pioneer in his field for the type of herbal/sinus/allergy remedies he has developed.  The herbs he has developed also help with so many other problems that are so prevalent today in our society.

When I finished my treatments I was feeling much better.  My symptoms bothered me very little and if they did, it was not as bad and I had my energy back and was able to exercise with no problem and live my life in a normal way.  Dr. Liang told me my case was very challenging and with each case he learns something that will help him with the next case.

UPDATE ON TREATMENT

Five months ago I noticed my stomach pain came back and a few of my symptoms.  I was very surprised at this but realized from Dr. Liang’s teachings that when this happens it’s my body’s way of telling me something else is going on or I am backsliding and doing something wrong.  I had been exercising, and eating correctly and doing all the right things.  I went back to Dr. Liang a few days ago to see what was wrong.  Dr. Liang found because of the amount of extremely stressful circumstances I had been under for so many years my pain and some of the “symptoms” were manifesting themselves again.  Dr. Liang performed his allergy test again and found I was fine and my allergies were gone, but the stress along with anxiety and some depression were the culprit causing my problems.  The stress was causing my body to produce too much acid and alkaline and gas and all of that was causing my pain.  I knew stress could cause many problems, but mine had been misdiagnosed for years so I thought it was something more than just stress.

Dr. Liang said I had 3 things going for me.  I am strong in my mind.  I am a good person and care about others.  I had good parents (good genetics).  Usually when your body has enough stress for an extended period of time, it leaves the door open for your body to produce a major disease of some kind.  I have been very fortunate that my body has not done this and the symptoms and problems it HAS produced, even though painful, have been something that was curable and not life threatening.  Dr. Liang has put me on 6 more weeks of herbal treatments.  Along with these treatments it is very important to keep a positive attitude and believe in your treatments and your doctor, exercise, eat right and take time to have peace and calm.  For some people that is meditation, relaxation or listening to soothing music.  In my case, I now practice all the above but I also spend time first thing in the morning to thank God for the good things I have in my life, sending Dr. Liang to me, my healing and to bless everyone else in the world.  Even if you think things couldn’t be worse, if you really take a look around you will usually find someone else that has it much worse than you do.

Dr. Liang is an exceptional doctor and human being.  He is one of the most caring people I have ever had the privilege of knowing.  I highly recommend Dr. Liang to anyone that has a health problem.  I hope Dr. Liang will soon be internationally recognized for the unique and groundbreaking treatments he has developed that are able to make the difference in the health of so many people.

Patient IX.

I’ve had upper stomach pain that is like having heartburn most of the time, on and off along with a stuffy nose for 35 years, since approx. 1970.

Two years ago I started getting symptoms of pressure in the ears, sinus congestion in the head and around the eyes and dizziness, usually happening when I had pressure/stuffiness in the ears and/or nose.  I thought it was sinus, allergies and went to my (western) doctor.  At this point I didn’t know of any other options.  Having worked in the medical field myself I really didn’t have much hope.  I knew my doctors would treat the symptoms and not the cause.  My doctor sent me to two specialists.  One specialist for the nose and one specialist for allergies.  The doctor for the nose had a CT Scan done and everything came back fine.  There was nothing wrong.  The doctor gave me some nose spray.  He did not know what the problem was and didn’t know what else to do.  The allergist ran some allergy tests, (the ones where they prick your skin with the different needles) and found I had an allergy to a few things, but nothing very bad.  The allergist gave me FIVE different drugs and most of them were to be taken closely time wise or taken at once.  My body does not respond well to drugs and all they did was make me feel worse and did nothing for all the symptoms I was having.  I WAS GETTING DESPERATE!  No one could find out the cause of my stomach pain or symptoms.  Over the years I have had many tests for the upper stomach pain such as, sonogram, x-rays, upper GI tests.  The doctors found no reason for the pain.

At this point I seriously thought maybe I was slowly dying and just didn’t know it.  I was now only able to work a few hours a day and my insides felt weak and exhausted.  This feeling was not the same as being very tired from working to hard or excersing to hard.  I could actually feel my insides were weak.  It is a very scary feeling.  I tried one last time to go on the Internet and see what I could find.  I had done this many times, but found nothing that I felt would be of help for my particular problem.

Thank God I found Dr. Liang and his Arcadia Holistic Center in Temple City, California.  I read everything on his web site (more than once) and was also very impressed by the testimonials.  I filled out the information he requested on his web site and he gave me a call to discuss my problems.  Dr. Liang said he really needed to see me in person the first time so he could run some of his tests.  I live 11 hours round trip from Dr. Liangs office but I was so desperate and hoping he would be able to treat me, I was willing to give this a try.  I had nothing to lose at this point and needed my health and life back.  I needed to be able to take care of myself.

After my first visit and testing, Dr. Liang found my organs were indeed very weak and I had some allergies.  I found for years I had been eating all the wrong foods for my body, and had jobs where I had been very sedentary and I was also not good about exercising.  Dr. Liang gave me nasal treatments and herbal suppository treatments to strengthen my immune system and body.  Along with the suppository treatments I took home with me, Dr. Liang gave me a treatment before I left for my long drive home.  I was amazed to feel so much better within an hour of my first treatment.  Within the first week I was feeling better and had less symptoms and upper stomach pain.  I was only eating the things Dr. Liang told me I could eat.  Which at this point wasn’t much as far as variety, because my symptoms reacted to everything I ate.    Dr. Liang also showed me a way I could check for myself to see if a food would be all right for me to eat.  This “finger test” I did on every piece of food I wanted to purchase to make sure my body wasn’t given something it would react badly to.  This has been a long process, but well worth it.  Dr. Liang said my case was very complicated.  I have learned a lot about my body, thanks to his patience with all my questions.  I am one who needs to understand why things are happening so I can also help them along.  I have been with Dr. Liang for a year now and have just recently stopped the suppository treatments as my body and organs are now strong.  I do mild excersises everyday and have lost 45 lbs.  This didn’t seem hard because when I ate what my body told me to eat the weight came off quickly.  I also don’t eat the amount of food or junk food I used to eat.  It was easy to give these up, as I never want to feel that way again.  My symptoms are improved and my upper stomach pain has also improved.

Dr. Liang is now doing allergy desensitization treatments and also found I have a nerve problem.  All this is contributing to my pain and symptoms.  These allergy treatments are different from the ones I had with my allergist.  The allergist pricks your skin with the different things they think you are allergic to----this is usually a standardized set of the allergies common to the area you live in and the basic food groups people have allergies to.  Then the allergist will give you a big dose of the very things you are allergic to.  I had been feeling so bad already, I was scared to death to put toxins in a body that was already weak and having trouble helping itself.  Dr. Liang takes some of your blood and makes up his OWN herbal allergy kit for your body.  There are no shots involved.  Dr. Liang’s allergy kit is easy and painless to use.  IT ALSO WORKS!!  So far I have had very good results from these treatments and hope by the time I’m finished with them my stomach pain and symptoms will be gone for good.

Dr. Liang is the ONLY doctor that has had any idea what the problem was and can not only treat me for it, but also treat me with herbs and NOT drugs.  Dr. Liang is a very caring and compassionate person and a real blessing to those of us that are not only ill because of various problems, but can give us hope where we thought there was none.  THANK YOU DR. LIANG!!  I will update this as soon as I have completed my allergy treatments.

From a very grateful patient,

Dear Dr. Liang,

Thank you very much for all the help you have provided to my wife and I with our various health problems. My wife Teresa and I first came to you because she was having recurring sneezing problems each morning. I took Teresa to your office just to have her problem looked at. But, I quickly became quite impressed with your herbal techniques. Your strength test for various body parts was particularly impressive. After you tested Teresa and gave her some herbal nose cr鋗e, I was convinced to have you diagnose by body. You were able to find many problem areas. One area in particular was for recurring nosebleeds. A couple of years ago, I had septoplasty nose surgery performed in order to try and stop these nosebleeds. But the surgery did not stop them. You also recommended herbal treatments for my overweight problem and numerous food allergies.

After a few months of your herbal remedies, both myself and my wife's condition have improved tremendously. Teresa's morning sneezing problem have been significantly reduced. I have lost about 15 lbs. and have strengthened my various body organs. The number of food allergies have been greatly reduced. But best of all, I have not had a single nose bleed since taking your herbal medications. For that alone, I can't thank you enough.

My wife and I would highly recommend your herbal remedies to anyone seeking an alternative to traditional and expensive medical treatments. The strength testing techniques alone are worth the price of admission and are amazing. I predict more and more medical doctors will come to realize the power and potential for your herbal treatments to help anyone improve their overall health.

Thank you very much and continued success.

Sincerely,

James and Teresa Gonzalez

I am a registered nurse in south bay area. When I was a graduate student in School of Nursing, University of Washington, I accepted Dr. Liang's Chinese treatment for my rhinitis. I got this disease since I was in Taiwan. Almost every morning, I suffered from serious running nose. In addition, most of time, I had nasal congestion and could barely breathe smoothly. Especially when weather was cold or air was polluted, my symptoms would be worse. I visited many physicians with specialty in this field and got some treatment such as anti-histamine, but didn’t get good improvement. Even worse, if I did not take medication, the symptoms would be aggravated.

In 1996, I got a chance to visit my friend who lives in Los Angelas. When she knew my nose problems, she introduced me to Dr. Liang. After talking to me and taking a history regarding my noses, Dr. Liang suggested me get a course of external nasal treatment. With a strong motivation to relieve these troublesome symptoms, I decided to accept this treatment without hesitate. Fortunately, after a serial of regimen, my symptoms get obvious improvement. Now, I do not need to worry about my running nose in the morning and have no short of breath since nasal congestion gets great relief. Also, I have not suffered from any side effect from medication since I started this therapy.

As for the treatment itself, the therapy I got was given directly via nasal cannel. The advantages of this route are: 1) increasing the effectiveness of medication since it will not be decomposed by liver (If a medication is absorbed by intestine, it will go into bloodstream and will be immediately decomposed by liver, therefore, the effectiveness will be reduced); 2) decreasing side effects of medication due to local effect on nasal area rather than the whole body. Moreover, the medication in this trial is Chinese herbs, the side effect will be minimal since it is natural component. Also, the goal of this therapy is to recreate a good balanced system of patients’ body, which will benefit patients in a healthier way, such as helping to decrease exhaustion and enhance functions of organs.

Dr. Liang has strong background of both Western and Chinese medicine. With this good foundation, he develops a significant theory, which can explain the mechanism of this therapy. This would overcome the limitation of most Chinese therapies--with no evidence in a scientific basis. From now on, this therapy and its theory can be expected to play a significant role in successfully treating allergic diseases. With this scientific basis, it will also be accepted and applied by western therapists to benefit more patients. Based on my personal experience and knowledge, I believe it will be a promising and effective therapy in the future.

From my youth I have had problems with sinus headache and congestion. The usual medicines were used for relief, but not as a serious cure. Western medicine treats symptoms, though often not dealing with deeper causes. When I was in my late teenage years, I began reading about Oriental methods of dealing with health and was immediately impressed with the depth and wisdom of this approach.

But it was not until recently that health problems brought me back to them. I have been an IC fabrication engineer for many years and was exposed to strong acids/bases and solvents, along with inhaling such chemicals through everyday lab work.

Although at the time I didn't appear to have any serious reactions in my sinuses, the long-term problems were building up.

Over a 10 years period my allergy problems got worse and lasted longer and longer throughout the year. During the last year I was unable to work for almost a month due to my severe allergy problem, I was sneezing and my nose was running constantly. I was really miserable. Then I got what appeared to be a very serious case of the Flu. I had a severe upper and lower respiratory infection with a 104 degrees temperature that landed me in the outpatient emergency ward at the hospital. I was given many kinds of medicine and after 3 courses of antibiotics I still was not back to where I was before I got ill. On top of that, when I went back to work and was exposed to the chemicals I got ill again, twice. I then went to a special doctor. He was a specialist in allergies and immunology.

To make a long story short, he found after running many tests that my immune system was seriously compromised and that I was now allergic to most of the things that he tested me for. His solution was to give me massive doses of those very same things that were causing me problems in order to "desensitize" me to them. He could not explain what was the cause of these problems nor any other means of dealing with them. I did not feel it was the proper way to treat my body, especially in the long term. I needed a deeper approach to this problem. I left that doctor and eventually found out about a doctor of oriental medicine and acupuncture. A man that supposedly had a problem similar to mine recommended him to me. After a year of off and on minor improvement in chronic sinus congestion, runny nose, sneezing, headache, and chest restriction and pain, I lost faith in the doctor and left him.

Very fortunately for me, I found about Dr. Liang and the Arcadia Holistic Center in Temple City. It was difficult for me to go to another doctor because I was losing hope that anyone could help me.

But I decided to see him based on a friend's success with medical problems after receiving treatments from Dr. Liang. He did a very thorough examination and told me what I needed as treatment for my problems. To help sinusitis, he is giving me acupuncture and herbs to help my sinuses and also for my weakened central nervous system and immune system. The acupuncture is helping to balance the disrupted energy flow and the herbs, absorbed through the mucus membranes assist in restoring, through the blood stream and major organs, the proper health of the body. At the beginning of every cycle of treatment he adjusts the types of herbs and acupuncture through the feedback he receives from my symptoms.

I am happy to say that I am much improved and well on my way to having my complete health back. Dr. Liang is a kind and compassionate man. Trust is a very important component in dealing with health issues. He inspires that kind of trust.

His training and medical background are excellent and show in the quality of care that he and his staff bring to the patient. My case is a difficult one, but through Dr. Liang's guidance I have regained my hope.

Hello, my name is Chi-Chi Liao. I am a student of School of Public Health at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. Before I met Dr. Liang and used his treatment. I always seemed to be suffering from nasal problems. I seemed to have sneezing fits, watery eyes, sinus congestion and constant runny noses all year round also I have frequent Migraine headaches. I have had this problem ever since my childhood in Taiwan and have been take to many different doctors about my problem.

Because I am a student in need to study and work, concentration is important, but it is difficult when my symptoms get in the way. From such symptoms, i am frequently distracted and leaving behind bad impressions. Then my friend noticed how much I had been suffering due to all the allergy related problems I have and told me about how she used to have similar problems before, but not any more because of a treatment she had before. I never knew she had such distracting medical problems before, so I asked how she got rid of them. She told me of Dr. Liang's treatment that helped her rid her problem and how she thought that this treatment could possibly work for me.

Personally, there wasn't a reason why I shouldn't at least give this treatment a try after so many other treatments. I did give Dr. Liang's treatment a try. After trying only a few treatments suprisingly I discovered it was easier to breathe now and my headaches hardly occurred anymore. At first I thought I was just hallucinating, but after a week my sinus's cleared and my eyes stopped water as well as other results I was so ecstatic and content in finding a treatment that actually worked after so much put back from other treatments. Curious why this one treatment worked when others didn't, I got up and asked him directly why. He told as if he has already told many people that the effectiveness of his treatment is that, the medicine and all its strength goes directly into the bloodstream through the nose without the medicine's breaking down partially from the body's digestive system. The other point he told me was that his treatment did not just treat my allergies and nose related problems, but is able to balance and fix the whole body.

Because I study medicine, I can really see this treatment method used widely in the future of nasal problems. It works remarkably well without anything else happen to your body like headaches, stomach aches, pains, etc. The impression that this treatment has had on me has really made me think this is a theory that will be put to use more in the future of Western Medicine. My treatments are currently completed and I can speak on behalf of this treatment that without this treatment I could never gone on with all of my nasal disorders. My allergies, headaches, runny nose, watery eyes, etc really couldn't have become any better without the help of this treatment. The key thing to remember when you have this treatment is that you really need to have confidence in the treatment and stick to it because it is not something overnight, but takes pertinence to see the results. This treatment is something that has really become something I am thankful for and I know it has also helped other patients of Dr. Liang, and I would definitely recommend it to other people with nasal problems.

My name is Hannah Hann. I am 66 years old and work as an ESL teacher with a Master's Degree in Education. I have been in this country for 30 years. I started suffering from allergic symptoms 16 years ago, such as sneezing, running nose, coughing, nose bleeding, itching and watering eyes, ringing in the ears, and dry mouth with bitter taste on the tongue.

I also suffered from back pains, shoulder pains, right-side headaches, stiff neck, sore legs, swollen feet and heel aches. I felt tired all the time, with no strength to stand up for long at the end of the day. I did not feel well enough to do any house work, and yet I could not sleep well at night. I woke up often with such an urge to go to the bathroom every night. I only slept for about 3 or 4 hours a day.

From time to time, I was hit by dizziness, chest pain, skin rashes, vaginal irritation, constipation and hemorrhage. I became depressed, impatient, angry and exhausted.

I went through allergy, cardiology and skin specialists, as well as to Chinese herbal doctors with their various treatments; no one, nothing could cure me. This is how I came to Dr. Liang with all of the foregoing problems. I was diagnosed with atrophic rhinitis with swollen nasal polyps. Right away, after the first visit, I told myself that I would be cured this time because there were no doctors who could pinpoint this core problem of my illnesses before! I gave my self fully to cooperate with Dr. Liang's external herbal application treatment. It only took three weeks before my sneezing, running nose, and all those allergic symptoms became 80% gone. It is marvelous! Then, all my pains from my head to my heels have slipped away without notice.

Today, October 7, 1999, it is exactly the day that Dr. Liang projected on July 1st: You will get well after three months with this special treatment. The way he treated me not only stopped my 16-year nasal problems, but also dealt with all the problems of all the parts of my being. Now I could sleep through 5 hours without having to get out of bed with an urge to urinate, no more hemorrhage, and my bowel movements have become regular. I feel good about my self, am more on the alert, and am more energized. No doubt that my feet and legs were also strengthened by the treatment.

I am expecting a cure and the fullest extent of recovery of my health in the upcoming months. I want to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Liang, Dr. Kuo and all the staff from the bottom of my heart that they did a wonder on me, not only curing my nasal problems, but also performing a reconstitution of my entire body. I feel renewed every day. I wish this advanced new method would be made known to the whole world. And I pray that whoever is watching this video, or reading this testimonial, would be of open mind and heart to accept this special treatment. Be encouraged, be patient, be faithful, and give full cooperation to Dr. Liang and the treatment. Then you will feel much better. Just like me!

I grew up in Australia and at the end of secondary education entered the Pharmacy College with a view to a career as a pharmacist. At the end of the course, the world wide depression resulting from the stocks and shares crashes on many Stock Markets from 1929-31, meant for myself and large numbers of people unemployment. I managed to be introduced to the owner of a weekly newspaper and was added to the staff. From reporting for a time, I became assistant to the editor, and when he left to embark upon another career I was asked to take over. I held this position for 25 years. (three years from 1942 were spent in the Air Force and service in the New Guinea Zone, this period intervening as I was reinstated early in 1945 after discharge from the Air Force. A course at Melbourne University during my earlier phase of editorship was carried out at lectures in late afternoons and evening, whilst carrying out the duties at the paper.

I was invited to join the staff of a non-profit corporation in California in 1962, and have been resident in the USA since then.

In February 1986 I was diagnosed as having an allergy, and a specialist found the cause was staphylococcus bacteria, other doctors previously informing me that the allergy’s cause was unknown to them. Various prescriptions had been tried during the years with no effect, and then more recently another specialist who tested me on two different days, and reported that he found my problem was not due to allergy at all. Nothing seemed to reduce this chronic, uncomfortable situation.

Then I visited Dr. Kin Liang of the Arcadia Holistic Acupuncture and Nasal Treatment Center in Temple City who found after thorough examination based on acupuncture and herbal treatments that the problem was due to a serious condition directly involving the sinus cavities. Upon his recommendation that I pass on to my regular physician his suggestion for x-rays of the sinuses, this physician immediately ordered the x-rays and also arranged for a surgeon to operate upon his examination of the x-ray plates. The result was the discovery that the sinuses were all full of polyps, which were then removed

Dr. Liang felt there was a deep seated cause of the problem that I had, and a short time afterwards a heart problem became evident. I thought it could be based on angina. An angiogram was arranged but it was found to be more serious, and because of my symptoms open heart surgery was decided upon ?quadruple bypass.

Since then, during the continuing convalescent period, I have visited Dr. Liang and received acupuncture treatments that have aided the convalescence by stimulating circulation of the blood and also elimination of accumulated fluid. For all of this I continue to feel very grateful.

My name is Katy; I'm 28 years old. I am a nutritionist at Queen of the Valley Hospital. I suffered from rhinitis with many clinical symptoms including sneezing, coughing, runny nose, dry itching throat and eyes, and sore sinus for approximately 8 years. The symptoms get worse whenever there is change of seasons and/or fluctuation of temperatures. I have tried many different antibiotics, antihistamines and nasal sprays, and yet nothing seems to help me, Those antihistamines only help with temporary relief of the symptoms. Besides, those medications give many side effects causing drowsiness, dryness, gastric disturbance, and fatigue. I also have tried herbal and nasal external treatment with the other nasal specialist last year. I was discouraged after few treatments, because I didn't see any significant improvement. I felt hopeless at that point after I have experienced both Western medicine and Eastern way.

Of course, Mom is always worried about my sinus problem. She encouraged me to try one more time when she overheard Dr. Liang radio presentation. I was diagnosed with atrophic rhinitis by Dr. Liang at the first visit. On top of my rhinitis, I was also told to have multiple organ weakness and imbalance. However, Dr. Liang reveals that he can cure my problem. I didn't believe him at the beginning, and I felt like a guinea pig again. After Dr. Liang had explained to me the treatment course and his theory, I still had doubt if I can be cured. But, I agreed with his point of view of direct external nasal treatment and decided to give one more try.

During the first cycle, I had to visit the office everyday. At each visit, Drs. Carefully examine and apply medication into my nostrils to keep for one and half hours. This external therapy is to allow the herbs to be absorbed by nasal villi directly into the inner cavity to treat the inflamed areas. I am especially amazed by ECIWO. Drs. use the so-called ionic solution in two little vials and place them onto my forearms. This allows ionic molecules to penetrate through the pores of skin in order to reach different organs in the body faster and efficiently. Both methods of treatments are used as direct which bypass the gastrointestinal track permitting the maximum potency of the medication and assure good clinical response.

My treatment is quite smooth. I didn't have any discomfort nor experiencing any side effects.

Nevertheless, I still need to reinforce myself to hang on to the end of the first cycle. Surprisingly, I felt better with less problems of sneezing, coughing, dry itching throat after only 3-4 times of treatments. Dr. Liang, Dr. Wang, and Dr. Kuo have been very patient and give me lots of encouragement and confidence at times. I am now at the end of my fifth treatment cycle. My nose isn't as sensitive as before even with this upcoming spring season, I have less problem with temperaturechanges and windy weather. Many of those unpleasant symptoms have either decreased or disappeared as mentioned. Not only my mucous membrane has becoming close to normal, I feel more energetic. Patient I

Hello, my name is Jillian Lee. I am a student of medicine at the University of ---. Before I met Dr. Liang and used his treatment. I always seemed to be suffering from nasal problems. I seemed to have allergies year round and suffer from frequent Migraine headaches. I have had this problem since as long as I can remember. I have been to several doctors and no one could help me. When I was young my parent's had taken me to doctors who could do nothing and told them that this problem was a 'Phase thing' and would get better as I got older. Well, I'm older and it hasn’t gotten better. Anti histamines had ceased to have any effect on my allergies. I had just about given up this problem as incurable. As a student it is really important for me to be able to concentrate. This problem is a major distraction. It is hard to talk to people when you need to blow your nose because it is disgusting and it leaves a bad impression. Not to mention, as a medical student I cannot be sick because this will not give my patient's a good impression of my ability as a doctor. It is also hard to concentrate on my work and study because I must be constantly blowing my nose. My parent's told me about Dr. Liang's treatment because one of my relatives had had the treatment with great success. They believe that Dr. Liang's treatment would help me as well. I believed that I had nothing to loose, but everything to gain. So, I gave the treatment a try. Amazingly, I began to feel better after only a few treatments. I began to breathe easier, and my headaches were gone. I was so happy. Finally, I had found a treatment that worked. I asked Dr. Liang why this treatment worked when no other treatment that I had tried did. He said that because his treatment was not administered by ingestion, like all the other treatments that I had tried. The effectiveness of his medicine was not diminished where if the medication was taken by ingestion, the effectiveness of the medicine would be diminished by 60% by the GI track and liver. Also, this treatment goes to the source of the problem by bring balance back into the body by fixing not only the nasal problem but the internal organs as well. If the medicine was absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the membranes found throughout the body, the effectiveness of the medicine will not be diminished. Plus less medicine will be needed also. One of the major bad points to traditional oriental medicine was the immense amount that you had to take plus it's horrible taste. By using this treatment, both of these discouraging points are eliminated. As a medical student I can see the potential of this treatment for the future treatment of nasal problems. It works well and unlike western treatments it does not have any side effects. This treatment has made a great impression on me and I believe that this theory could have future influence on my practice. My treatments are now done and I can say that I could not have gotten the relief I've received without this treatment. This treatment is not one that happens overnight but it does work. You need to have confidence in the treatment and stick to it. This treatment really helped me and I know that it has helped other patients of Dr. Liang as well. I would definitely recommend this treatment to anyone with nasal problems.
